The West side of Oklahoma City / Yukon area is seeing an incredible amount of residential growth, especially around the Route 66 and Sara road location. There are a multitude of houses being built and not enough retail to support them.
The Design Build team: Mitscher & Associates Architects (M&AA), Aria Development and Precision Builders is bringing to this community, a new retail shopping center that will attract everything from hair salons, gift shops, clothing stores and restaurants.
The design team wanted to create a landmark for historic Route 66, a road well traveled by people from all over the world. A place where the surrounding residents could be proud of and call their own. A destination point that would be a fun place to shop, grab some food and perhaps meet a traveler from somewhere as far away as Czechoslovakia wanting to experience the local Czechoslovakian Festival in Yukon.
M&AA created buildings that would tie together with crisp lines and a subtle modern aesthetic, utilizing light colored stone with accented brown and grey brick. This particular design draws your attention to the framed portals, that help define the specific retail store spaces. The development will also feature a main plaza area with shaded outside seating where locals can relax.
With a multitude of lease space (almost 50,000 s.f.), this development will offer a variety of shops and allow for a great destination point for locals and those who enjoy traveling down historic Route 66.
